Haiti Day 1

Day one in Port-au-Prince was quite surprising. I was shocked to see how commerce and life is going on, and the Haitians resiliently push through the day. On the other hand, I was shocked to see the rubble and piles of debris that played as the backdrop to the hustle and bustle. 250,000 people died in 35 seconds…I guess we can not expect these 35 seconds to stop life here, nor can we expect it to cause the Haitians to freeze in fear…and we sure can’t expect it to be cleaned up as quickly as it fell. It is an honor to be here to capture the strength and courage of the Haitians as they press on…
