David Johnson (Director/Founder)
David is a former English teacher in Charlotte, NC who left teaching to do full time international work. He is the President and founder of Silent Images and specializes in documentary photography. His passion is taking his camera around the world to document persecuted and oppressed people and then uses his work to raise awareness and money for the indigenous people. David’s focus is to always find the hope in the midst of the injustice. He has documented the people of Darfur, Sudan, Ethiopia, Uganda, Ghana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, China, Cambodia, Thailand and Peru.

- Played college tennis
- Taught English for 8 years at Providence Day School
- Author of two books on Africa (Voices of Sudan and Voice of Beauty)

- Lectured at Penn State, NYU, UC Berkeley, Stanford, UNC, Baylor, Duke and dozens of other high schools, universities and churches across the nation.
Elizabeth Marx (Assistant Director)
Elizabeth is a photographer and graphic designer who has been working with Silent Images since the Spring of 2009. She specializes in a unique fine art approach to all her photographic work, and is passionate about using the arts to advocate for social injustice throughout the world. The issue of human trafficking has particularly captured her attention.

- Loves backpacking, trail running, and journal-making
Seth Snider (Team Member)
Seth is a photographer and began working with Silent Images in January
of 2010. He leans toward a photo-journalism style documenting the
reality of circumstances and situations, good or bad. Seth
specifically loves to bring out the beauty in anything that he sees,
and travels quite often to enable this passion, hoping to open eyes
using the diversity of people and places around the world.
He has a love for the people and culture of Nepal and India
specifically, hoping to return there often.

Kelly Fleming (Administrative Assistant)
Kelly is the Director of Administration and Development and has been working with Silent Images since the Fall of 2007. She is the one who makes things happen and keeps the ball rolling. She is a mother of two children who keep her busy, and she and her husband have been married since 2003.
Facts about Kelly:
- Earned BA in Child Development and Family Relations from East Carolina
- Loves to run and paint
- Was an extra in a movie with grant show (melrose place), lauri laughlin (full house) and norm (cheers)!
