Silent Images spent a week in Thailand in 2009 documenting the sex tourism taking place throughout the beaches of Thailand. The sex tourism puts young girls at risk of exploitation, rape, abuse, and even murder and needs to come to an end.

Silent Images documented sex trafficking in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Pehn, in 2009. From the slums of Svay Pak to the aftercare facilities of successful reintegration programs for girls rescued out of the sex trade, Silent Images served these women and children through the non-profit organizations, Transitions Global, Sixty1, and The Hard Places.

Silent Images served Project Rescue, Nepal, in 2007 to provide photography and promotional materials for an aftercare facility ready to begin exporting their handmade goods. A younger, grassroots movement in rural, Western Nepal was also served by our lectures, images, and professional editing services.

Silent Images has served and partnered with many organizations throughout India in 2007 and 2008 to advocate for orphans, widows, street children, and women forced into sex trafficking. These organizations include Project Rescue, SIM, YWAM, Good Shepherd Agricultural Mission, and Hope Takes Flight.

Silent Images served Peru Mission in July 2008 . They are initiating the first echo friendly furniture factory that uses alternative woods and provides jobs, training, and mentorship to local Peruvian men. Silent Images documented the rain forest, the processing of the wood, and the training of the men.

“Charlotte Through Our Eyes” celebrates the photography skills of inner city and homeless youth in the Charlotte area. The exhibit, featured at The Levine Museum of the New South from September-January 2009, offers a fresh perspective on the city, as the children invite us to view the city through their camera lenses. Silent Images partnered with Nexus Church to teach photography to 20 inner city youth, many who are homeless. The children then spent the summer capturing the beauty of the Charlotte and the struggles of poverty.

Silent Images documented the street kids and the slums of Nairobi, Kenya in May 2009. Silent Images photographed for Sports Outreach Institute as they served women with AIDS and the children of the slums.

In October of 2008, Silent Images served the Christian Embassy in Israel as they serve the Sudanese refugees who have traveled from Darfur to Israel to seek refuge.

Silent Images spent 10 days in Burundi documenting the reconciliation of the Hutu and Tutsi tribes after years of genocide. Silent Images then produced a documentary film entitled, Hope for Burundi, to tell the story of the power of reconciliation.

In 2008, Silent Images visited a small village in western Sudan, about two miles from the Darfur border. These images are of internally displaced people, who’s villages have recently been attacked. Silent Images helped deliver medicine and sacks of hope to assist them in their transition. Many of them have run to this village and own nothing but the clothes on their backs.
